Stock F1's and 1/4 times question---->>>
After going to the track last night I have been thinking about a few things that happened. I have been running 255/50/16 BFG DR's on my 01 L everytime I have been at the track. At first when my L was stock everything was ok. Now with some mods and my trap speed going up I have noticed something happening at the end of the run. Once I just barely pass the last beam at the the end of the 1/4 run my L shifts into 4th (OD). One of my questions is what gear ratio do you think I'm seeing at the track with the 3.73's and 26" tall tires? Also do you think it is possible for me to run better times if I can hook at a very well prepped track with the stock F1's. I know some guys who have traction with the stock F1's have been able to run some strong numbers. Like I said the track must be prepped good. Sometimes they are around here....especially Rt. 66 where the NHRA guys run twice a year. The F1's on my 01 are grippier than the ones on my 99. I think as long as I can pull 1.9's with the F1's then my chance of good times are there. 2.0+ 60' won't get it done. Thanks Jeff

The one thing the F1's really wont tolerate is any water on the track and I think the same goes for the DR's.
I have had my best luck going to the track on a wednesday night test n tune. There is no water in the water box and its mufflers and street tires only.
Even though the track isn't preped so to speak, at least there isn't a bunch of cars filling up there wheel wells with water and driving forward and dripping all over the place. Just a plain old dry track works wonders. If I take it easy, I can pull consistant mid to low 1.9's.
