M/T DOT ET Streets?
M/T DOT ET Streets?
I suggested to my wife(while treating us to a 'hot' Mexican meal) tonight that I could save some wear 'n tear on my F1s if I got some drag slicks. She liked it!
Question; do you guys that have them drive to the track with them installed? I would like to do this(being careful not to drive in the rain!). The track I run at is about 30 miles from my home.

If they have any load limit rating at all, I'll bet its below what is required for these trucks. I consider the risk on the track an acceptable one, but on the street no way. Also, they are very soft and you are going to wear them out really fast driving them 60 miles to and from and if it rains forget it. Unsafe in the rain at any speed above 10 mph. Buy the 2 ton jack, mat for the bed, tailgate cover and haul everything to the track.

I'm with Noel. It'd be WAY easier (and safer) to just do it at the track. Buy a good 2-ton jack and get a box to keep all of your changing crap in. The ETs are really sticky and stick out about an inch, so you'd have rock chips everywhere (provided you even make it to the track). I know that mine get pretty damn squirrely at the top end of the 1/8, so I can only imagine what they'd do on the highway.
Drag slicks have soft sidewalls...good for blasts straight down the track...bad for twistes. I could only imagine what would happen if you had to make a emergency lane change manuever at highway speeds on ET's
If you really like the idea of not changing tires at the track...look into Drag Radials.

The E.T. street is a pretty good tire for just driving around on the streets. Me and my buddies do it all the time in our cars. My friend with the camaro has his E.T.'s and front runners on all the time whenever we go out. Luckily it doesn't rain. But for the time and effort that it take, your going to change them either way right, do it at the track and save the slicks.
