I got my truck back today with the new motor. My dealer tells me the motor is a 2000 but frankly i dont think he really knew. So my question is, how can I tell wheather or not the motor is a 2000 or a 2001? The sticker on the motor reads 5-14-01 5.4L so i'm guessing its a 2001. I see a lot of differences with this new motor from what i can remember. Also the blower reads SVT instead of eaton, not sure if that makes a difference. Anyone have any ideas?

 

'01, all the '01 Ls I have seen have had "ford SVT" on the s/c.

 

Probie I am glad you are back on the road, looks like you might have a whole 2001 compleate with the 2001 intercooler. Maybee you should compare it to my engine.

My '01 engine built 2/01 says EATON on the s/c. Go figure.

 

You got a 2001 motor asmby. Same thing I got, my motor date is 5/23/01. Both motors are close in build dates.
