Talking Smoked a Vortech'd R/T Yesterday

Actually, I didn't, but my son did.

A while back, I was gassing up the Lightning and a kid in a nice, black R/T goes by, honks, and gives me a thumbs down. I was a little surprised by his audacity.

Anyway, last week, I pulled up to him at a stoplight, looked over at him and gave him a thumbs down. He would not race me. I guess he is smarter that I thought.

Yesterday, my son Matt went to the store in my truck. He comes back really excited ad proceeds to tell me how he stomped the black R/T. Yes!!!!

I guess, they ran into each other at the store and the guy was mouthing off about his 350 RWHP, blown R/T. He quizzed Matt about the L, and Matt told him it was stock. Maybe he thought Matt was going to be an easier race. Not likely, as he drives a 500 Hp, blown Chevelle.

When they left the store, they both stopped at the light. Matt said at the green, he immediately pulled a length, on him. As they rolled on up the road, the L continued to pull away.

The black R/T had to eat a little crow. He gave Matt a thumbs up.

Justice done. I just wish I had been there to do it.

Hey Jay, there's another one around here (in whittier) that's blue. It's an R/T, but he's also Vortehed. The guy claims he ran a 13.7, but he has some mickey mouse 20z on his truck right now and i would almost guarantee he wouldn't race with those.

Whoa.. 350 RWHP and lost to a stock L? he sucks!! LOL!!

I dyno'd my 318 after I ran a 13.5@101.9 and pulled 296.8RWHP and 349 RWTQ...

Congrats to your son!!!

I'll be heading to the track tonight to see what heads/cam/2400 stall do for me... (and 3 less PSI )

fwiw, I have a Powerslime blower...

Matthew! Your daddy is proud of you--and so are we.

My 24 yr. old son is 'lost in california'--can't wait 'til he gets HOME. I've sent him pics and told him I want him to drive it--it's a chick magnet! Right, Matt?

Dan

Thanks, guys and gals. I passed your congrats on to Matt.

Coolva, my son had his street racer face on when when he told the guy it was "stock".

My L actually has a Pro-M, Swanson chip, and my traction bars. It made 377 RWHP on Danny's dyno.

Hye_bolt, I've seen that 20x blue R/T around. It doesn't look like it has enough tire to handle a Vortech blown 360.
