what did you pay for your '01
If you don't mind a drive to San Diego, Mossy Ford will sell at X-Plan. I got mine there on the X-Plan after joining the EAA. I emailed 22 dealers all over So Cal and Mossy was the only one that would sell at X-Plan. El Cajon Ford would not sell the one on their lot for X-Plan but would order one for that price.
Mossy had a red and black on their lot last Sunday.

I paid 28,789.00 (x plan)plus a 1,000.00 "admin" fee to cover
their 15,000 per year SVT licensing fee!
But it still
beat the hell out of the 32,610 sticker that no one else
would even talk about coming off of.

Paid $28,289 as Ford gave me a $500 rebate (Flood relief rebate) on top of the X-Plan price of $28,789!!!
However it took me almost 3 months to find this dealer that would offer me X-Plan. I must have talked and written to every dealer in Houston + Dallas + Fort Worth + Austin + San Antonio without luck.
I was packed and ready to fly to Virginia Beach, to pick-up my L, when my local offer came through!

You guys have made me very happy.
I paid $27,500 for a used 2001 with 1248 miles on the ODO, tonneau cover, Rhino Liner and Keypad entry system.
The guy who got rid of it bought it as a toy, drove it, put the stuff on it and then decided he would have more fun with a Cobra. So he traded took a huge loss and left with his new Cobra. Either more money than brains or just so much money that he can buy cars for "extended" test drives. Either way I got a sweet deal. I just wish he had done something to the stereo.
The truck was traded at a high point for gas prices here in Nashville and they couldn't move it for a month listed at 31,100. At the end of the month they were having a big Ford Days something or other free hotdog weekend event thing and badda bing marked the truck down to 27500. 2 minutes after marking the truck down to 27500 I was test driving. 1 hour later I was waxing.
I got lucky.

Found a dealer about 30 minutes away that would sell on the X plan. It worked for me.
Some that I called said no. Some said they normally sell the L's
for $5K over msrp but for the X planers they would sell it for $2K over msrp.
The day I bought mine was the last day of the month. Not sure if that made a difference or not.
Anyhoo, $28790 +tag, tax & title.

I'm new here, been lurking since early June. I paid sticker for mine but got $11,000 trade-in on a '96 Ranger that booked at around $8,000 on edmunds.com, so I feel I did pretty good. I was prepared to trade at anything above $8,500 so imagine my surprise, and delight
Hi all, my first post here. I've been researching these L's for a few months and I have got have one. I signed up through www.EAA.org and I am awaiting my PIN. Now all I have to do is sell my 98 Blazer and I'm in with you guys.
These dealers are murder on the x-plan, I found 1 out of the 10 I called that said he would honor the x-plan. Mossy Ford in San Diego. Well.... I hope to join the ranks of my fellow brothers soon on the runway.
I'll be doing future inquiries about clubs in Southern Orange County soon too.
Blessings,
Machewie
