Angry 6th coat of Zaino & I was killed

Last night I decided to stay home and detail the truck. Spent three hours washing, waxing, and babying my silver love. The 6th coat of Zaino is amazing looking.
After my three hours of labor were up, I decided I should take her for a mid-night cruise: soon, I found myself amidst a friendly race. It was a moderatly modified 99 or above Z-28 6-speed. Engine rev, blah blah blah, and we were off.
We were even until about 45 when he began to pull away. (I had a surprisingly good launch.) Frustration on my part soon set in.
Simply, I need to be chipped... the questions arise in my mind about the voiding of warranty, drivetrain damage, etc. Should I chip? That is the question...
There's my story. Thought I would share... enjoy.

You got to love the zaino, I am a covert having used it for the first time about two weeks ago. It is great stuff, however it probably doesnt make you much faster. Maybe a little, because of the smoother finish.

I would do the chip. I have on the way a 4way psp chip. I am so looking forward to it getting here. I think it shipped yesterday and I will be installing as soon as it gets here.

I don't think the chip can really cause you all that much damage. I had my last truck chipped and no problems with it. I know ford or the dealership will try and tell you it is voided maybe or things like that, but bottom line is unless the mod directly caused the damage that is being disputed they don't have a leg to stand on.

Car dealers are the only business that I have seen that can give such crappy service and stay in business. If you ordered food from a restaruant and it came and it was rotten they probably would not say well you put mustard on it and therefore we cannot warranty our food after you modify it from its original condition.

Just my thoughts, I love my truck and I like to make them run all that much better. So if ford wants to void my warranty so be it and they will lose my and my familys business forever.

I see you made it to Texas. Weren't you in OP? I think we met once on Metcalf.

My brother-in-law is in keller. My wife went to TCU. If you haven't found it yet you must go to Joe T's (Garcia's) for some awesome food. My wife used to go there when you entered through the kitchen.

Do the chip. I'm waiting on a new flip chip from JDM along with a fan kit and lower pulley. I'm at 385 rwhp and will soon be well over 400 with these new mods.

Good Luck down thar in Texas.

Yep, that's me that followed yo down Metcalf and followed you into the parking lot.
Good to see you've got the same Texas connections as me: I live in Keller, going to TCU. Interesting. And yes, Joe T's is awesome. I am going to go up there and try and get a job this week. Great money to be made there.
Have some questions about this chip. Will start a new thread though....

hey Colin, glad to see that you've made it to DFW. I haven't seen you on DFWstangs.net lately...... Let me know if you ever want to head out to the street races.

Haven't had a computer for quite sometime. Just got everything hooked up yesterday.

I'd definitly be interested in these street races. Drop me an email if you get a chance, lemme know what night/where/etc.

I'm in Tyler this weekend for a party, but any other night will work. A female that I saw F&F with wants to attend also. I'll make it a macho-date.

Also, how close are you to me? I'd like to drop by and see your Cobra sometime, if that's cool. I'm now obsessed with the 93s. It's my next ride.

There's a BBQ dive (I'll have to get the name) that's not bad for Texas Q and you surely can't miss Old South for breakfast.

I just got my billet TB in the mail from BAbolt and my new chip, fan kit and lower pulley will be shipped tuesday. Can't wait to get that stuff on and hit the dyno again.

Good luck with school and stay in touch.

The BBQ joint is called Angelo's. The beer is always cold.
