Ok guys so here is the deal today (sunday) I'm going to race a guy who talks to much about he's car and how no one can beat him, anyways I never liked this guy and I have known him since we were kids, and a couple of my friends want me to race him because they know that my Lightning its fast so the race its set up for today unless the guy backs out at the last minute, so the question its what do you guys think that my chances are, he's car is a 1999 5 speed Camaro SS, no mods (a least thats what my friends say), he has never been a the track so I don't know what he's times are, my truck has ran a best of 13.67@99mph and at the time my only mod was straight pipes and since then i have installed a transgo shift kit and a transsmision line presure modulator, a superchip flip chip and I modified my air filter box like a ram air set up like many guys have done, and installed a K & N filter , and I can tell you that my truck is way faster than the last time I went to the track, so what do you guys think? can i beat him? can you guys give me any tips!. believe it or not I'm kinda scared but I'll let you guys know what the out come is..

Dude, you got this one in the bag!! I saw a '99 SS camaro race at the track yesterday and he only ran a 15.50<--- Jus make sure your launch is good with no wheel spin.

 

Hmmmmm! I wouldn't take the Camaro too lightly. This past Fri. nite, I saw a couple of SSs in the mid-to low 13s at Silver Dollar Raceway. of course, your friend's biggest problem will probably be his launchin'/drivin' skills.

If it's a 5 speed as stated it's modded, they come with a 6 speed.

 

He turned a 13.9@99 and then a 14.01@99

3 bent pushrods. The stock ones up here seem to turn 13.3-13.4s

You should have this guy no problem. Bet him a pitcher of beer. Enjoy the beer!

 

Had a friendly encounter with one the other nite, couldn't tell if it was a ss, too dark.
Was pulling onto the onramp to I-15 when all of a sudden the lights of a camaro riding too close to my a$$. When we got to the freeway, I let it go and he followed. He gave a good chase to about 60 but started to walk away from him slowly. I shut it down at about 90 and slowed to 70 so I could get a look at what it was but he did the usual flyby and I couldn't get a good look in the dark.

Go woop some a$$.

 

You think you're tired of hearing him brag and talk chit now, just wait until you beat him and the excuses start flying.
Things will only get worse when you squash him like the grape he is. Just take the satisfaction and run with it. Cause believe me, the excuses will fly and the poop will pile up so don't forget to wear your chit kickers when you race as to not ruin your good shoes.

IF the guy in the SS was anything like the ACR Viper I tried to race last month he probably will never get a race!! LOL
