Smile Best Security for the L ....

HTOWN,

Fellow Sooner, I see. I'm class of '98 in Mgt Info Systems. What year/major were you?

From my experience, the Clifford IntelliGuard 9000 w/the backup battery and horn is a very good system for my '00 Lariat. My last '00 was stolen and recovered in north Tulsa a month later. Totally thrashed! This alarm has alot of very good features. Check it out .... http://navigation.helper.realnames.c...&uid=30022596. Hope this helps!

I had a '00 L on deposit here in Tulsa, but let it go due to the intercooler/clunk issues. I'm holding out for the '03 redesigning of the entire F-150 line and performance enhancements in the L.....

Car alarms don't seem to be much of a deterrent, at least here in L.A.

I have had LoJack installed on my L, my previous truck, and my wife's SUV. If your car gets stolen, all you do is call the police with your VIN number and tell them you have LoJack. Saves on insurance as well.

I have the upgraded Ford factory alarm system, and I'll tell you, it is pretty good. I had a Viper 600 system on my old toyota and I think my present system is more sensitive and responsive. All they did was add shock sensors and on loud a$$ siren to the keyless entry that comes with the truck. I would check that out!!

Thumbs up

i use a alpine pager which has an intrusion air pressure sensor and a shock sensor for a trigger. the alarm does not sound a horn or siren but pages me inside or where i am, it works good if your always close to the vehicle, i dont want the crook running away till i have some choice actions for them. also if someone does get away with the L, a command link will disarm the ignition and sound horn as long as the truck is in the tri-state area it is activated froom a phone or the net..Backup battery would be good but i have nothing inside it take, and if they cut the battery their not taking the truck....

Angry Best Security for the L ....

L in Detroit,

I'm looking into the plug-in feature for my system which will call my cell in the middle of the night if the full-on alarm goes off. Sad thing is, the same ****** probably had put foot-prints in the bed of my truck recently, hand-prints on my rear-slider and slim-jim scratches on both side-windows EVEN WITH THE ALARM chirping !!!! WTF!!!!

Sounds like time to move out of the "'hood" ! Funny thing is.... it's actually a nice place.... Evidently, you can't have something nice for SOME people .... grrrrr !!!!

Hmm..... opinions, please.....

I got an updated Ford system on mine. Turns out it's nothing more than a Code Alarm. The guys at the stereo shop pointed it out when I brought my truck in for a new head unit. Works nice though. I also got a lojack system.

If they really want the vehicle, it's good as gone. Best you'll be able to do is protect it from the joy riders.
