Jba Header

I just ordered a set of the headers and was wondering if anyone has them on there truck. Did it make a big difference or no difference. I know that they are going to be a bitch to put on, but i would hate to have them installed with no improvement.

There little or no improvment to be made to the stock exhast. The Headers will give the stock exhaust a little low rummble and only be slightly louder, but no power gains.

It's hard to believe that aftermarket heads don't help out much.

I would expect that they would have a noticable improvement at higher rpms, especially whent the blow is working it's magic.

The video of Sixpipe's Go_Rila illustrates the sound improvement.

LOL, you've got the bloddy knuckles part right. I 'm just glad I only spent ~$600 for my auditory enhancement. I do have to say that it does have a nice sound to it now.

ok then

So i guess i just spent $499 on a sound improvement. I find it very hard to believe that there will be no improvement. Did anyone at least try it stock then with the headers alone.

The power is not in the heads or exhaust on this truck. I remember a post of a HALO guy I think? Spent like 5K dollars on head work, cams, custom dyno tune for 20 HP a chip gives more than that. MM&FF did an article on the 5.4 L heads. They acctually lost HP on one side intake I think and minimal gains on exhaust side. Full Bassani systems are a toss up. This motor likes back pressure and the higher flow lowers boost pressure. Stay with what works and drive it. going in the motor and fadling with exhaust is not where it's at. Unless you have too much money and time...

I agree with L8 Apex--Exhaust mods, unless they are full length headers< offer little return.Stay with improving the airflow in front of the engine not behind it.I'm currently experimenting with a mod that I think only one other member has fiddled with.As soon as I get this part back from the machinest I will post my results. For now I will keep it "under-hat" until I know if it works(or not)If my guess is right ,it should show a substantial improvement. I'll keep you all posted.

I have had my Bassani exhaust system installed for about 5000km now and love it. The guys are right about being hard to install (took about 5 hours to do including removing the stock system). I tend to disagree though with those who say it won't give you anymore power. I haven't noticed any real kick in the pants type hp increase but it does seem to be a little stronger now. One great side effect to the install was that my gas mileage improved. It is a lot of money for what you get in return (with exchange and duty I paid about 3K cdn.) but you just gotta love that sound.

2001 svt did you leave the cats on or take them off, and did you run the truck b4 mods and after? Just wondering.
