I suppose not. However, I am going back up there tomorrow to visit the scene of my crime. One year ago this Sunday I was motoring through the curves on my Road King when I found myself in a curve I couldn't make. Loooooong story short, there is a tree there where people hang broken motorcycle parts. I will be hanging one of my broken mirrors. Kind of a peace offering to the Dragon.
Anyway, wouldn't mind taking the L there in the fall and see how it handles the 318 curves in the eleven miles.

Clonetek,
It's where western NC and eastern TN meet. I think the road is Hy 124.
All the sport bikes love it as well as the sports cars.
There is a web site if interested. www.dealsgap.com
It's not just a local thing. People come from all over to ride there and the Blue Ridge area in general.

It is Highway 129 runs from Robbinsville, NC to Maryville, TN.
One section from 129/28 junction in NC to the Junction of the Foothills Parkway on the TN side is know as the Dragon.
It is far from "a local" thing, motorcyclist from all over the world come to challenge the Dragon. Current record is a tad over 11 minutes by a Kawasaki ZX9R. On the NC side there is a store and campground call "Crossroads of Time" which sells videos of various motorcycles running the Dragon. They normally have one cued up and playing all the time. It is well worth the trip.
It took me close to 20 minutes on a 1998 Honda GoldWing 1500, dragging both footpegs the whole way.
It would be very tight for a L.
