Well this is my first post here. I have been following you guys for a while and I wanted to ask a favor. If anyone in Texas, Louisiana, or Oklahoma has gotten the X-Plan on an L could you tell me where and what the name of the dealership was? Thanks.

 

Goodluck! Im trying to buy one on the x plan as we speak,but evey dealership between here and Dallas wants atleast sticker!!
We may have to just nut up and pay sticker and be done with it.
Mcgilvrey in athens just received a black,red, and a white saturday. I may go down tommorow and get the black one if I can talk the wife into it!

 

Shank Dog thanks for the information. Here in NE Houston (Spring, The Woodlands, Conroe) there are numerous Lightnings for sale but all above sticker.

 

Maybe I was asking too much. Has anyone in the Houston area paid below sticker on an 01? If so could you tell me the name of the dealer and who you dealt with? Thanks

Thanks for the help guys! Here is my decision: I have been to several dealerships around the Houston area and the two best deals came at the dealerships closest to me. Planet Ford told me $36,660 + TT&L on a silver '01. Gullo Ford Mercury offered me sticker price +TT&L on a red '01. I really don't want to pay sticker but I might have to.

Keep trying and don't give up! I went thru the same thing you are going thru right now as I talked to Dealers in Houston... Dallas-Fort Worth... Austin... and San Antonio!!!
I finally got my red 2001L, 3 weeks ago, under X-Plan at TEXAN FORD on the Katy Freeway.
I believe they are expecting a couple of blacks shortly as I think I took the last red they had in stock.
Trust me, it can be done. The worse you can do is pay MSRP as I was able to get that out of almost every Dealer I called...

HTOWNSVT- I finally found a dealership to accept the x plan.
North Central Ford in Richardson, Tx. 972-680-4621. They
still have a red one and a silver one in stock. Im going to
pick mine up in the morning. The guy I delt with was
David Wilmoth,very nice guy. Dont know if you wanna drive
that far, but nearly $4000 difference is alot of $$$. Hope

HTOWNSVT- I got the black one. They still had one black
and a silver left and that was it! They sold 3 of them yesterday!!
There isnt any grass growing under Lightnings it seems,they go
pretty quick. They do have two more coming in August. He didnt
say what colors though. You got to get ya one of these!!! They
are a blast to drive. We giggled all the way home. I did figure out
that if you take it out of overdrive and romp on it @ 50-60 mph,
it pulls like a sob!!!!! That was the highlight of my day! Really
makes ya grit your teeth. Goodluck!!
