6 qt is what it ways in the manual. Spiro has said that putting in 5.5 qts will keep the oil from showing up in the T/B. (Correct me if I'm wrong!) I'll put 5.5 in next time i do my oil change.

An oil breather cap will also keep the oil out of the T/B.

At the risk of feeling stupid, what is T/B?
And, is 5.5 qts the suggested qty?

Question

i changed the oil and filter in my friends 2000 black lightning the other day, and we put in 6 quarts, fired her up, let it pump up, shut it off, and checked the oil, half a quart low. waited a little while and checked it again, still half a quart low, id say it holds 6.5 quarts. although we did let it drain out very well, it got down to a slow drip, some people put the plug back in when most of it is out, i did his the way i do my camaro, just let it keep dripping and dripping until u get sick of standing there and looking at it, LOL!
