I was on I75 North on monday and ran into a Z28. I believe it was a LT1 but it could of been a LS1, I did not pay that much attention. He did have a 4" cowl hood, pillar gages, shift light, and some exhaust work (Converted to single exhaust) that I know of. I had the cruse set at 75 and when I original passed him he took a long look at the L but did not bit. About 2 mile later he comes up on me and when he gets to my door with no warning he punches it, I followed but did not race due to traffic. When the traffic cleared I got over in the fast lane and when my front bumper was next to his rear tire we both hit it from about 75. We were even or he might have gained 1-2 ft to about 110 and after 110 he gained about 1 car lenth to about 120 where I shut down. My question is this about normal? I know I was not going to win because of the L's wonderful aerodynamics but I stayed with him untill 110 and I think that is pretty good. Also do you think he had any major mods to pull 1 car lenght from 110 to 120. By the way my L is stock.

 

I think that is about normal, I raced an LT1 camaro the other day going down I66 and I was going 80. He ran up on me and tryed to pass but I chinese roadblocked him. OHHH, was he mad...LOL. After that he stayed right up with me with speeds at 130-135. LT1s have good top end but when it comes to drag style racing Ls blow there doors off, as well as vettes.

 

Sounds right. I've noticed just from driving, off-the-line these Lightnings don't have alot of competition off the line, b/c of our line end. But on the highway our aerodynamics is what holds us back, really holds us back from dusting other cars.

2_FAST4U - my friend did that to me the other day in his integra, actually everytime I go to pass him he does that, it's so annoying.
