Question Tuning/ Chip for '01 L?

Do any of you tuners know if the '01's are tuneable? I am looking for someone to have a chip made by. Thanks in advance.

Give Jim at JDM a call!!! Jim and another guy both had their '01 Ls at the FFW at Richmond a they were running a 12.70 to 12.60s with Jims programs and a few other goodies!!! I haven't ran mine since I put the mods on but I plan on being in the low 13s.

BoltAction,

Defintely give Jim @ JDM a call, to my knowledge his 01 program is the fastest available! He ran 12.7's on stock tires at full weight last weekend.

Well there you have it all three of the major players in the L community have been represented. I like to see that.

I have on order or soon to be on order a chip from psp, but I think any of the big three mentioned above will do you a good job.

Making your choice is the hard part.

Paul

Thanks for the replies everyone. How many miles do you recommend putting on before doing performance mod's? I just picked up the '01 L Friday night and already have the Cervini hood on the way!

I put my mods on at around 6200 mile, I broke it in good before the mods, I even took it to the track to get a baseline run before the mods too. I think a good breakin time is aroung 1500-2000 miles. A guy who posts here (Ivanhoe_farms) had around 1500 when he put his mods on at the track. His stock time was around 14.90 and after a JDM flip chip, 90mm MAF and an oil breather he ran a 13.60 with track temps at 98 degrees and 100% humidity. Thats damn good!!!! He has a '00 BTW.

Boltaction-

I have 75 miles on my 2001 L and I ordered PSP's 4-way flip chip / filter, pulley..... I plan on using their stock program until I hit about 1000 miles, and then it is open season. I highly recommend PSP - I used their chip / filter on my 2000 and it rocked!!!!! Call Sal or Spiro at PSP, and you will never look back.

Good Luck,

Dave

P.S. Good choice on the Cervini hood - mine is also on the way!!!!
