Question? For those running Ls in 1/4 mile Brackets?....
This is probably directed more for the 12.5- 12.8 ET group then the chip and filter guys.
Question-When running eliminatioms and going "Round Robin" rounds (less then 10 minutes cool down between runs) "Do you find that it is very difficult to dial your Truck in because of the inconsistency of the heat the S/C puts out and the trans? Convertor?
Mine can be as much s .08-.14 sometimes between runs.
I did notice that cooled down (30 minutes between runs) it's fairly consistent but when not hot.
Though I lead the points at my local track in Street Sportsman points and I am second (3 points out) in the Div. 2 Summit ET Points Championship, last Saturday the dial-ins got insane.
I was all over the board (as much as .16-.24)- the 1/8s were were pretty spacecd apart also 8.08s to 8.3s- while my 60 ft times 1.74,1.75,1.77, 1.75 were very consistent.
The weather doesn't make you run slow then fast the medium, etc.
I was just wondering if it was my truck or had others experienced this??
I am afraid the more power we make with our Lightnings the more inconsistent they become n bracket racing.
I remember when a chip and filter rans only a couple hundreds a run, if that.

I don't ever have any problems with consistancy, as long as my 60fts are consistant. There are certian things that can be changed in the chip that will have a great effect on consistancy. Many people post awesome ETs, done at their home tracks, with thier trucks sitting for hours with ice all over them, to be able to run a single low to mid 12 second pass, but when it comes time for hot lapping, the trucks become high 12 second trucks. Sometimes for the serious bracket racer, having the most power producing chip can hurt you more than it helps you.

I raced only one day and I never did better than 2.1 for a 60' time. Truck is stock. Are you running slicks? What is your launch technique???? How do get such low 60' times?

I agree the powercooler is a must have for consistentcy. It has to be one of the best mods for anyone that likes to go to the track and keep the temps down
You might want to talk to Noelvm. He is the best bracket racer in the Houston Area driveing an L. He has figured out hot to dial in his truck almost perfect every time.
As for our truck, we have never run more than .04 off when had time to cool down and .06-.08 off when hot lapping.
You might want to look into putting some fans on your ICR and putting a switch on your IC pump. This way the intake can be cooling while it sitd for the few minutes it can. When you turn the motor off the IC fluid does heat up beace it can not circulate.
Again talk to Noel, he can help you out with constancy.

Johnny Lightning is correct,the power cooler is a great help, I just finished my install,and it's palin awesome.Great job Johnny,install wasn't to bad after I learned what the heck I was doing....Nice fixture just take your time and do it right....Yep a power cooler is a great help!!!!!!!!!!
