Hey guys I'm brand new and I don't own a lightning yet but I have few pretty close in my sights. I want a 99-00 cause I like the looks better but after all the reading I have done, I'm pretty worried about buying one that hasn't had the IC recall done. If it hasn't what options to I have for replacement? I read the FAQ page and looked at several links but it doesn't appear that anyone makes an updated after market IC or adapter plate. I get a little confused at about that point. Can someone explain a little more as to what part actually fails and what can be done to fix it?

do a search on the thread i made, many 9 row haven't leaked but a few have...



all the aftermarket i/c cores are for the "program midplates", only one company can take a messed up 9 row and turn into a useable one that flows really really nice

 

I saw your thread on that. So, is a "program midplate" the one that ford installed once the truck was brought in for the recall? If so, what are my options if I have the original setup and it starts leaking? Are you saying that I can send it off to a company and have it fixed? If so, who? Can I upgrade to the 10 row? Is there a kit available that takes care of everything?

 

you'd have to either find a program midplate and 10 row core, or you'd have to change over to an 01-'04 set up
