A numbers question

hi everyone. i got a 2000 L and here's the list of mods i have (some stuff still on the way) 6lb lower, magnum powers SC case, jlp cai, sct 2600 maf, SCT tuner (will get a custom tune), ngk plugs, c and l elbow, cannon longtubes & high flow cats, SBTB, and an afco heat exchanger.

so the question is, what kind of numbers should I expect, and what how much boost. any feedback will be appreciated. TIA.

Depends upon the tune you throw at it, but off the top of my head I would say

HP --- 355-375
TQ --- 435-460

6# lower with stock L upper, I think should give you 12-13#'s of boost

Make sure you plugs are NGKTR6's

Yea...I figured perhaps he could see more. I will always guess on the low side, plus I figured this way if he went with a conservative tune those would be accurate numbers.

Yes. I am going to a conservative tune as it will be a daily driver. I was hoping for a bit more in hp /tq tho. . . and yes I am getting the NGKTR6 plugs. . .

The engine isnt built. . . would it still be safe to trhow in a 2.7 upper? Thanks for the feedback.

6# lower and stock L upper is the same as putting a 8# lower in my HD (I believe). You can change the upper to get more boost, but I would be very careful and honestly stick with the stock upper until you at least go with a built shortblock.

Our motors rods aren't the greatest stock and some WOT blasts, 2 gear kickdowns, and shifts from 3rd into OD will cause them to either break, shatter, punch through the oil pan, or the block.

Just go with a 6# lower and conservative tune and you will be happy....as you may end up seeing numbers of 400/500 (as everyone's motor is different in some minute sorta way)

I guess I'll stick with the 6lb lower then. I don't want to risk anything, much less a ventilated block. I will be saving up to go built then, before trying anything more than what I have now.
