I am new to the world of trucks and my first one is my 2001 Lightning. I just read about where to get the HID headlights, but I was wondering about some other little upgrades I could make. Can I upgrade the inside dome lights to leds? Are there some other simple and cheap upgrades to do? I've also seen the suggestions to replace the air intake filter, but does that actually help much of anything?

I am not looking for big performance or to look flashy or anything, I am just wanting to enhance the usabilityfor myself.

HID kit is a huge visual improvement. You can go LEDS in the dome lights, turn signals, and tail lights. You can do a simple muffler swap and get a nice sound of the truck if it doesnt already sound good with that supercharger mmmm. Grille upgrade, tint windows, tint with nightshade or get new tail lights. All that stuff is relatively cheap and makes a world difference in your truck. Also, if your truck is raked forward like most are, stick some 2" drop shackles in the rear and youll be pretty damn level.

you can also paint to match your tailgate handle for cheap. just sand that bad boy smooth, primer, and paint and clear with the right paint code. that's my project this summer.
