400rwhp??

Im about to purchase a lighting with 43000 miles and i was wondering what all does it take to get a lightning to or over 400rwhp.

I was thinking 4# lower, longtubes, CAI, larger single blade thorttle body, aftermarket plenum, sct big mass air meter, Boost A Pump and a boost bypass kit. And a costume tune.

What do yall think??

ported eaton, ported or high flow upper plenium, 6# lower, valve body, long tubes, custom tune and a better heat exchanger should have you close

forget the boost bypass the tune will take care of that

don't forget the plugs and a MAF or MAFia

If you take your list minus the boost bypass and Tarajerame's longtubes suggestion, it is all you need to get just over 400rwhp on a 2001+ lightning. I get about 400 even with that on my 2000 and I've got the smaller intakes.

I'm running:
Mild JDM tune
4# pulley
SB throttle body
custom plenum
CAI
JBM longtubes+exhaust
90mm MAF (stock on 2001+)

and I'm 392rwhp on a hot day.

Agreed. I'm almost at 390 on a hot day and stock blower. Dyno tune is a huge help with a good tuner.

Yeah, the difference between the two runs there in my chart are merely the stock ECU and JDM's tune. That's a pump gas mild tune.

16 degrees timing, A/F ratio in the low 11's, and the below mods in the sig has gotten me 437RWHP & 447RWHP on different days on different dynos in cooler (for Miami) weather.

I believe a good port on the Eaton will get you another 20 RWHP or possibly a little more. Also consider the 6 pound lower.

Port & Polish is good bang for the buck on the blower (only) through Steigemeier (SP). On the Plenum, whether you port a factory one or buy aftermarket has almost no gain, just as headers on an otherwise stock truck. If that $10k is for mods, I would look into a Kenne Bell blower.

i already know about the kb blowers and i've seen the damage they do i will get one eventually but the 10k is for the motor swap and minor performance upgrades but the rest of the money is going to a new paintjob and complete body overhaul
also, i asked how much the superhcarger porting would cost through steigemeir

Jughead- it should run about $200-250 for a plenum port. I know you can buy a new one already ported for prolly the same amount of $$. Steigemeir is about 3hrs from me. I have talked to a couple of guys from my area (Warrensburg, Mo.) and they said Steig is the way to go.
