Lightning Clones?

A friend of mine is looking at what is represented to be a 9,000 mile, one owner 2001 Lightning. I'm curious...have there been any issues w/regard to clones with Lightings? Do Lightnings have unique VINs?

Thanks.

also 99's came with all the regular lighting no lightning heads, corners, tails or 3rd brake light. also the fog light were glass, so if it has those dont automatically think its a clone, but they may have been swapped out

btw nice truck

No question it's a nice piece, but what about the price? I was mistaken in an earlier post. It's a 201, not a 1999.

Here ya go...

It is my understanding that the 2001 lightnings had 355 gears not the 373 as stated in this add.

Nah. 99-00 had the 3.55's. All others the 3.73's.

OP,

That's not a bad price for a cherry Lightning. The prices vary depending on where you buy them. It depends on how bad he want's one. I don't think I'd let mine go for that price, and it isn't bone stock... or as low in mileage.

The only minor odd thing I see is the tailgate emblem is one for a regular F-150 and not the "SVT F-150" emblem it should have.

Yea, I seen that too!!!!

That is odd!!!

Maybe the tail gate was repaired, mine is a 2001 and it has the SVT F150 on it... I have never seen an L with only a F-150 sticker on it!!!

Yes, legit but why the regular emblem on the back? Weird. Looks really nice.

Another small item I noticed, the tails light lens have been changed out, from red to clear ones. I believe they started switching them out in 02. But like everyone else has said, it looks very clean. Also I think the Vin # should have an Z in it also.
