Want to clean the intercooler. Need HOW to's

Also have a few ?s before doing this. I know Ford has done Torque to yeild With some of the bolts on Modular Motors. Are they any that will have to be replaced when taking everything apart to clean out. Also any gaskets need to be changed.

Thanks Jason

You can try running some Seafoam through it.

I would look into getting a oil separator at the time you clean your intercooler so it stays clean.. And go with new gaskets, if your going to do something do it right (my way of thinking).. Good luck

Depends on how bad of a mess you have in there for Seafoam. Best way to do it is to take it apart and clean it out.

It's not as bad as you think, remove it take it to your local radiator shop. They can boil it and pressure test it. Costs about $50.
So not only is it cleaned it is tested for leaks. Can reuse the gaskets if they are not damaged. Inspect all mating surfaces for dings or dirt run a hone stone lightly and evenly across the mating surfaces will show any nicks or dings.

Make sure to follow toque sequence when reinstalling. The Supercharger to mid-plate bolts are torque to yield and should be replaced. I have reused in a pinch when new bolts were not available.

let me know if you need the torque spec's
God Bless,

Suavy

I remember reading someones post on lightningrodder.com or nloc about the torque specs. I think the guy said to torque them to 18, then 32. If that helps. I dont remember if it was in lbs. or ft lbs. I would think it would be inch lbs. sorry.
