Belt shredded! Help?

So my lightning motor finally tore the serpentine belt and wrapped it around the crank pulley. I'm sure it will be fun getting that out but my question is what do I need to do to put a new one on? Do I need to remove anything or is it the same way as putting a belt on a N/A motor?

Any tips would be great!

Thanks guys!

Dave...

I think you have to take off the S/C belt to get the serpentine belt on

To replace the accessory serpentine belt you first have to remove the SC belt using a ½ breaker bar or a ratchet. “I usually remove or aside the inner cooler SC reservoir to get better access to the belts tensioner”

Then if you have the stock bottom pulley, you have to either loosen the cage, or remove it all together. (A Pain in the But) One main reason to go with a cage less bottom pulley to be able to easily replace this belt..

Then using the ½ bar remove and replace the belt…

I'd be more concerned as to what "chewed" the belt up to begin with.. I'd guess one of the pulleys it drives is out of line with the rest, causing the belt to wear on one side, then shred..

Didnt "cheap out" on anything just didnt see the belt until it was in the truck. New belt is doing great (gatorback acc and blower belt). Not cheap as you stated....
