Exclamation 03' Ford Lighting Sputtering?

I recently bought a 03' L with 80K on it. I have dove it for about 4k and never had any issues with it at all. I haven't really gotten down on the gas from a stand still until this past weekend. I was going to powerbrake to warm up my tires to do a 1/4 mile pass and the motor bogged and wouldn't turn the tires or go above 2k. I got off it and then just stomped it from a dead still. After it shuttered a little bit it took off and went like a bat out of hell. I know a little about cars but not enough obviously cause i can't figure it out. It boost up to 8-10 fine once you get going. I replaced the fuel filter just because and looked for a vaccume leak but didnt' see anything. Any suggestions on what causes this. The truck has stock pullys, magnaflow exhaust and a Cold Air. Could it be a MAF? Any help is appreciated.

Try the IAC (Idle Air Control). It was suggested to me, and I replaced it for about 50$ from autopartswarehouse.com, fixed the problem.

when you powerbrake don't hold the brake pedal all the way to the floor just enough to keep the truck from moving forward

what octane are you running? when is the last time you changed the cops, plugs, and air filter?????

I always run 93. I haven't changed the COP ever but plugs were changed about 15k ago at a stealership. The air filter was cleaned about 3k ago. I don't hold the brake pedal down all the way in fact i start a roll and gas and brake just enough for it to stop rolling but no spinnage. Even from a dead stop taking the foot completly off the brake and stomping the hell out of the gas it will not spin but rather lurge forward while shaking a little at after about the 15mph mark it will go ahead and fly. Do the COP need to be changed that often? I thought they were lifetime things? What do they cost?

I have a game plan for the long weekend. New TR6 plugs and see if that straightens things out if not going to get either accel or msd CoPs. I drove it again a day or so ago after coming back from my honeymoon and under everything i could stomp the pedal to it only boosted to like 6-7 I live in North Carolina at the beach and it was about 90 out but what boost should I have here? Any help is greatly appreciated guys!

I have a stock 03 and I'm at about 9 in 80 degree weather. I have the boost by pass mod and a drop in K&N filter. Stock is suppose to be around 8

Well when i changed the plugs this weekend I found a couple vacuum leaks on the backside of the motor. One was the boost gauge. Fixed all those, changed to TR6's and she'll roll like a scalded dawg now. Everything is fixed and runing great it appears. The 4# pulley and tune will come soon now.

Did you check to see how the old plugs were gaped? Both times I've had a trouble with a sputter it ended up being the plugs, but I'm sure my time for COP change is coming soon enough
