just got my lightning! couple of questions

First, congratulations on your new toy. The SVT Lightning is a fairly incredible vehicle that can carry 2-3 people, refrigerators, sofas, bales of hay, and then go to the track and peel off 12-second quarters with a few bolt-on mods. A modded Lightning is (usually) feared by all other trucks... and even some vettes.
My advice is to find out WHO did the tune for the 6-pounder. Its important that you know who the tuner is and maybe even call the guy to get some background on the truck. If the truck has been modded and tuned, the tuner will have all the specs/components and that'll be helpful if the former owner didn't give you a thorough background on the truck. Its all about a GOOD tune, and a bad tune coupled with that pulley could be a disaster waiting to explode. I don't like the fact that it looks like a stock MAF with the 6# pulley.
As far as a CAI, almost any decent aftermarket unit will be a huge improvement over the stocker. I'm using a Cool-Aid from Chickenears (on the left) and its one of the most popular for this truck... but K&N, and many others are available. I started off with the JDM CAI unit on the right.
BTW, Texas is loaded with Lightning owners who participate in this and other Lightning-specific forums. Explore the other forums, post some pix of the truck, tell people where you're located, and I'm sure you'll get a lot of Howdies and inevitably invites to meet, learn, and have a good time.
