Royal Purple question

Hey guys my stock L. is going to hit 50,000 miles anytime soon. Im thinking of changing the rear end oil and trans oil too. Is it around the time those two should be changed. Also heard real good stuff about royal purple so does anyone recommend which type to put on both trans and rear end? thanks

I don't sell or promote anything but I found this independant gear lube study to be very informative. You can download the PDF. Interpret it as you wish.

I just changed all of my fluids over to RP.

The tranny is a 17 quart system-changing over to RP is like night and day.

The dif I believe is 2 quarts or so. I used RP 75-90 when I had my changed. Also make sure you use the proper additive for the posi rear end.

If you want to add Purple Ice to your raditior it is a 25.5 quart system and taked about a bottle and a half. The intercooler is a 4.5 quart system and you can use the Puple Ice in the intercooler. It has the same antifreeze as the cooling system. I know this only because I spent 2 hours on the phone one day calling: Ford Performance, Royal Purple, and JDM. After talking to all of them I felt comfortable putting the Puple Ice in my intercooler tank.

If any of you follow these threads-Thanks to Ford, RP, and JDM, they all had great ideas and even better answers.

What do you mean by night and day?

The diff. is 75W-140. The 90W may puke through the breather as its way too light.
