Another "Checkin' in" thread!
Hey guys! Well, I'm coming to the end of my vacation. I've been on land since september, and its getting about time for me to head back to sea. When I return again, spring should be amongst us, and racing in full swing. Not that anyone has followed my Lightning progression, but I figured I'd share some updates anyway. When I got home in september I had JDM straighten out my whipple plumbing debacle, and do a little tuning. I only had two trips up to the track before they closed for the season, and I'm just about where I want to be. I ended up running 11.69 @ 117 on my street tune in HOT weather. I think she's got a lot mroe in her, as I had to add a little high octane to combat some ping. (I'm still only at 8-10 degrees on that tune...maybe I need a little more fuel?) and haven't had a chance to run my race tune yet. My goals are 11.51 (no cage!) on my street tune, and 10.anything on my race set up. I think with a little more tweaking I should be right there. Unfortunatly, the winter bug hit me hard, and I got into snowmobiling this winter, so that has absorbed all my budget and time. For anyone that hasn't done it...TRY IT....but only if Lightnings are NOT addicting and expensive enough for you!!!! I bought a 2007 Ski-Doo Blizzard 800HO, and did a little tweaking. Holly He11! 0-100MPH happens so fast its rediculous. It pushes your helmet against your head to the point that it hurts. Your arms hurt from trying to hang on. 150+ hp, 8000rpm, 450lb machine, and INSTANT traction make for way more fun than trucks!
Anyway, I've been spending all my time on sled forums, and felt guilty, and wanted to stop by and say hello to my Lightning Brothers and Sisters before I head back to sea. When I return it will be warm and sunny, the sled will be sleeping soundly, my Lightning will again get my full and undivided attention! Until then, take care, stay warm, and get those trucks shined up for summer time!!!
Later,
Aaron
oh, and I should also add that, this time home, I found a beautiful girl that is crazy in love with me, loves racing, and is more of an animal on a snowmobile than I am! Life is pretty good. If only that damn money tree would start growing so I don't have to go to sea again! (Vin, any tips on getting maximum fruit from those trees?????) :-)
