would like some opinions from you all

i was able to find a decent price for a stock black hood. i was thinking about getting rid of the hood that is currently on my truck. but im torn. the front grille has some pretty big rock chips, but it's not totally horrible. thing is i dont want to put the money into having it repainted to this "custom" color. so i think i know what im going to do, but wanted to get an idea of what others thought.

so, keep it the way it is & deal with the chips...eventually putting black back on?

or just get the hood and put it on once i get it?

Hey is that the Lightning you picked up in the trade? Never saw any pics of her. She looks great man, what a deal. I like the look of it now but all black looks killer when clean. The bottom line is its your truck and your opinion is the only one that matters. Post up some pics man,so far I like what I see. Im not a fan of the painted black rims without a lighter lip but she looks good. Have you discovered any hidden goodies such as maf or a ported blower? There are always stuff that is added that the seller forgets to tell.

yup that's the one in the trade. i posted up some pics in the other thread i started. but i only have a limited amount right now, lol. so i dont want to bore others that have seen the same pics over & over. ill post more when i take more in the next couple days. there is a list of modifications in the glove box that the previous owner wrote down for me, but i havent found anything he didnt leave out. im going to have to figure out how my passenger seat gets wet when it rains, but only on the top back part of the seat & no where else

Sounds like you might have a bad seal around the back window or the back side top of the door seal.

yeha i was thinking about the window, since my 97 had the same problem. but when it would get wet, it actually left water marks on the headliner of the 97.

on my lightning, it's just the seat....towards the center (like i can put my hand on the side of the headrest of the passenger seat when im driving). but the headliner was not wet. neither was the back wall (under the glass). kinda stumped me the night it happened. when it gets warmer, im just going to sit in the truck while someone hoses it down to see if i can find it.
