Question Was your boost guage "pegged" when stock?

I talked with a guy at the track last night w/ a '01 L. He said that his boost guage has been pegged from the day that he picked the truck up. Mine showed 8 psi stock, and it now shows a little over 9 w/ the filter kit.

They are all very inacurate. However, mine showed about 8 stock, about 8 with filter kit, and over 10 with lower pulley.

Cool

If you want accurate figures get a boost guage.Mine was blowing the needle off the stock guage, put a boost guage on and am actually getting 11 lbs boost with a smaller upper pulley.Same with the temp and oil pressure,it's nice to know your running at 180 degrees with 60 lbs oil pressure rather than normal, nornal, what the he$$ is normal, Ford needs numbers on the guages. And thanks to Speeding Bob,I couldn't resist the pillar pods so I now am the proud owner of the three guages as mentioned!!!!!

Cool

I know that the factory guages are off, and that's what I originally thought as well. However, his only mod is Superchips tuning, and he was running 8.50's compared to my beest of an 8.62 in the 1/8. Our 60' times were the same, and our truck weight only differs by 20 lbs. I guess all vehicles have some "factory freaks".

Damn guys, you're making me feel slow! I guess I'm going to have to get a pulley to keep up w/ these 11 psi guys.

Im an expert at this matter.Ive tested stock and pully and filter and ram air and so on and so on..................
My 99 Lightning showed 10 on the boost gauge.
my 2000 showed 9.5 at 10 on boost gauge

After my motor was installed,I only got around 8-9????all along my autometer was accurate.

stock fact 10........autometer.....9
pully 11......................10
air intake 12......................10
pully/intake off chart.............11.5

This meaning the factory gauge is usless once you do mods,It shows much more increase than you REALLY have. You want accuracy, you get autometer but be careful cause even when your factory is well in black,You could really be only getting 10 true PSI
