Sorry that I really don't have an answer to your question, but I have the 90mm also on my 00 and it seems to me that the more air you can feed your motor- the better...but I can't back that up. Its funny that you asked this question, though, because I was going to ask a similar one too; so let me just make a friendy amendment...

did any of you guys that had run the Pro-M 80mm mass air before (I'm looking mostly towards the 99 and early 00 owners) switch over to the 01 Ford OEM mass air and notice any gain/loss in performance. Following what I had said earlier, it seems that the more the better, but I wasn't sure if the Pro-M possibly had a better design or something to that effect. Thanks, later...

Exclamation

The 90mm gives you exactly a 10mm advantage over the 80mm

I posted this same question over on PSP board. I have a PRO-M and was thinking about upgrading to a 90. Heres what Sal said,

"Noel, the 90mm only flows 4.7% more air than the Pro-m, so if you have the Pro-M, there really no need to upgrade."

I had the Pro-M 80mm on my '99 and switched to the 90mm. The Pro-M also bumps up the timing a little, so its not an apples-to-apples comparison. I also have the oval tb. The Pro-M was a little more responsive off idle, no doubt, but my truck is a consistent 2 tenths faster with the 90mm. However, the 90mm required a new chip, so that's not really a straight comparison either. The big point to me is that it behaves better with the 90mm. With the Pro-M I occasionally got a lean error, occasionally had a flutter at idle, and occasionally had suging at low speeds. Now it runs like a stocker but faster.

Spiro,

Can you shead any light on this? I am a bit curious myself what the differences are between the 80 and 90 performance wise.

WHTLIGHTN,

Let me know if you need a 90 mm sensor. I have an extra one for sale.

Thanks.
