Mondo1,
I wouldn't look any futher than Mark @ Lightning Force!! His product and CUSTOMER SERVICE is unsurpassed!!
He shipped his upper pulley kit to me Friday 6-15, 3 day priorty, by Wednesday it had not arrived so I called Mark and he next day aired me another one!!!!!!!!!! That is how a vendor should treat a customer!!
When I arrived home last night the pulley kit he had mailed to me a week prior had arrived on Saturday.
Another feature that is awesome about his pulley kit is yesterday after I finished racing I popped the belt off removed four screws, slide on the stock size pulley (in less than 5 minutes!!) and was on my way home with the blower running at normal boost!
BTW - I have detected NO belt slippage

Why risk screwing up your s/c snout? Get a lower pulley that's proven and will not cause belt slippage (even if the other's don't in most circumstances). Plus, not to mention the other benefits (easy belt changes, etc.)

Neighbor has correct tool for proper pulley removal directly from manufactuter(ASP) Pulley is also $130 less!Easy install (and uninstall)retain stock lower cage, and talked to several owner with NO reported slippage concerns.Seems like the wat to go IMHO.

It's STILL not that easy to install, and still you may have problems doing it.
Have you also thought about the size of that upper pulley and how much more rpm you'll be spinning. I feel it's too much faster, and the lower isn't overkill.
That stock cage excuse it crap (not directing that at you). It's good for nothing except the stocker, even then it's questionable.

What's overkill for you may not be overkill for everyone. I thought the upper and lower pulleys both increased the boost 2lbs
Regardless I love the upper pulley kit and highly recommend it

Well, not necessarily. If you add freeer (is that a word?) flowing intake components your boost will drop, but that doesn't mean you're making LESS power.
It's like pressure vs. volume, not the same thing.
Anyhoo, you should be fine and I'm glad it only took you the 30 min. to change it. You did quite well! Hope your truck runs some awesome times!

Click that link if you would like to see what I went through a long time ago. After that experience, you know I would recommend the lower....and NOT because I sell them. Just trying to pass on some info. for you to decide from. Hope this helps.

BFB but with the upper kit you can run the stock boost pulley and not raise the RPMs of the upper pulley and when you hit the track, swap them. That way you wont be constantly running at an elevated RPM.
I believe the pully Mark sells is made by Metco-inc. Not ASP! Asp pulley is not adjustable like the Metco unit. The removel tool comes with the Metco pulley. It may be cheaper to buy it straight from the manufactuer..02

The pulley I have is not the ASP. I agree with you that the ASP is risky at best! The Metco the Mark sells has a hub that is pressed on or pulled off and it is so thick it looks as if the puller would fail before bending the hub in the event you had to remove it. I believe the upper pulley's got a lot of bad press because of the design of the ASP which I would never use!
Mondo1,
Hopefully this discussion has cleared up the differences in the different brands of upper pulley's available
Good luck on whatever you decide regardless if it is an upper or lower pulley I'm sure you will like the results
