Red face Think I blew my trans!

Was leaving my friends house about an hour ago. Went to take off after pulling out of his driveway and my L fell flat on it's nose, kinda like when you hit the rev limiter (which I didn't). Let off the gas and eased back into it. Very jerky, like a bad miss. Hmmmm. Shut it off, started back up, same thing. Service engine light comes on as well as O/D light flashing. Reverse is better, so I backup to his driveway and limp back in. Rev's ok while in park or neutral. But now I hear another whining and it's not the blower. Sounds like it's coming from under the truck. Did the diag bit with the trip button. There is a couple codes (forgot to jot them down). Weird thing is, the boost gage didn't move when I did the gage test. Doesn't look good. I'll have to wait until Monday to get it looked at as all our dealerships are closed until then. Funny how things work out as I was going to take it in Monday to get the oil changed. Almost to the 3k mile mark.

Small consolation is my friend lent me his F250 diesel. Love that diesel sound.

Bob

Might be the counter on the top of the rear end. They can fail at any time. Usually your abs lite will come on thou. Good luck.

How do you do the diagnostic test with the trip button?

AkSilver2k - Hold in the trip/odometer button while turning on the vehicle. Continue to hold until test comes up in your odo readout. You can then scroll through a bunch of info by pushing the button. Goes back to normal when you turn the truck off. Check out this link for better instructions. http://www.mustangworld.com/ourpics/fcar/dtcodes.htm

This showed the oil pressure switch bad on mine which would explain why my digital oil read all zeros.

As for my problem. Stopped back by my friends to get a better idea of what's happening. Disco'ed the battery for 5 mins. Reconnect. The SES light goes off, but the o/d light continues to flash. Starting up, everything seems ok. If you give it any gas, acts like it's flooding out. A very gradual increase in throttle will raise rpm, but boost gauge doesnt even move. In it's current condition, I can't drive it home. So it will sit until Monday when the tow truck arrives and then it's off to the dealer. Yippee!!!!

Hey Bob, you won't love that diesel sound when it comes from YOUR truck. Hope you never have to go thru what I'm going thru. Good luck with yours.

Just an update. All my problems were from a blown fuse. Thanks to J Man's help, I was able to find the right one and replace it. If you look in your manual, it's the one for the HEGO sensor (Heated Exhaust Gas Oxygen). That would make sense since the way the truck was acting. As for the other whining I heard coming from the truck, must've been me as I don't hear it now. I still think I"ll have my dealer check things out just to be safe.
