does anyone here use an IAT (intake air tempature) adjuster???? Got one on my Ram and it definately helps here in Fl. where it is damn hot year round.

Hello all..
I know the guys with the Contours and Focus use those things.. it is really supposed to help the smaller engines.. I suspect it also has alot to do with the computer.. The chip makers should know just how much timming and fuel is pulled for a given temp increase.. if it was big.. I am sure they would have allready done something to counter it..

If it's anything like the '99 Cobra's, it adjust the baseline timing by a degree or so. Nothing major. Some guys got ~3rwhp from fooling the EEC by putting a 100k ohm resistor in the IAT socket. 100k ohm fools the computer into thinking it ~40 degrees outside air. I did it and didn't really see any gains.
you mean a FAN?

No it is a reastat or however you spell it . Basically it changes the air temp the computer reads and therefore increases the fuel flow and timing at lower faked temps. As you may have read here most folks say their L runs better when it is about 50 - 54 degrees outside. It is a simple setup and took 15 mins. to install and added a little pep to the "little ol' 318". The current product is Mopars only
