Post 6 disk changer compatable with aftermarket head unit?

Is the stock 6 disk cd changer compatable with a aftermarket head unit?

Thumbs up

I think they have an adapter but it may be like $100. I wanted to put an amp in my last truck and it was the eddie bauer "premium sound" they wanted to charge me like $150 for this adapter and misc. other overpriced garbage. I ended up just putting a 4ch in and an aftermarket headunit. Ran my own wires was not to difficult and A LOT less than the $150 since I was going with an aftermarket deck anyways.

Have an inexpensive day
Jim

I've been told that it will plug into a Clarion (may have to get a small harness to convert) but I've never verified that info. I do know for a fact that the changer is made by/for Clarion (has a Clarion sticker right on it) so I'm sure it would work somehow.

nope.. wont work. sorry.
clarion uses a plug that is different from the stock ford wiring harness.

i've been thinking of how i can make an adaptor to make it work, and make a jillion bucks, but there are so many variables.

on the brighter side, the stock magazine will work on aftermarket clarion cd changers.
(vice versa also)

i have a clarion cd player & 6 disc changer in my truck. plus some other goodies.
