Due to restrictions on size of email I can send, the message bounced. Therefore I posted it on my website. Please note that it is 3MB. The link is http://personal.mco.bellsouth.net/mc...ert_report.pdf .
I hope this will help anyone else in the future. I have my day in court. Hopefully the judge isn't as much an *** as the trooper that gave me the ticket in the first place.

DOT regulations are listed in the CFR 49. It is a Federal Guidelines of regulations, such as the requirements of the DOT. The "Code of Federal Regulations" has federal guidelines that the states must follow. These have to do with safety, minimum requirements. There will be an enabling section within the Florida state code that allows enforcement of the regulations within CFR 49 and other Fed guidelines. Go to a legal library and do some research, photocopy the guidelines and take them with you. It pays to do more homework than the accuser!

The lights have to def be legal. If I can get away with them in New York State, by far the pickiest state in the union when it comes to stuff like this, they have to be legal in Fla.

Logical: The lights aren't illegal, your vehicle is. The lights don't have to have the amber side reflecter, the car/truck does. Put some reflective orange in the gap above the bumper on the side and you are legal.
in South carolina u can not replace any tail or headlight with anything other than what was original for that model year. In North Carolina as long as they are DOT aprroved they are ok.
Don't know Fla laws u sould be able to look up the General Statuts pertaining to this subject. I found a site that suppled info for each state regaurding different states. Sience I live in NC and travel in "SC alot i check the las for each state, In SC it is unlawfull to sell these lights to any vechical other than model year desighned for.
