Test Drive
I was coming home from the Fast and the Furious and saw a ford dealer with a brand new Red L in the lot. It was 11:30 p.m. and were actually just about to close to i found a guy to help me before it was to late. I talked to him for a while and eventually he got the keys to it and went on a test drive. The truck only had 4 miles on the odo when we started driving. About 2 min. into the test drive i pulled up to a red light and a guy and his girl friend pull up in a SS. Now this guy thought he was cool with his manual tras and loud stereo. I had the windows down on the L and the salesman that was with me actually ask the guy if he wanted to race. The SS dude gave me a look that said he was going to kick my a$$. So i had my foot ready on the gas and he got ready to. When the light turned green i just flat out smoked him. He was missing shifts and everthing. The look on his face was awsome as his girl friend hit him in the shoulder at the next red light. Now i really want to get a lightning but i have to wait till i become a senior in school.
I don't buy the time of the test drive... Secondly not until your a senior in high school which would make you 16-17 years old and out after curfew test driving a 32K truck at midnight... C'mon man , there are some 18-19 year old owners and I was 24 when I bought mine...

Well, there's a few holes in your story.
1. Most dealers close at 9:00pm.
2. How did you know the SS had a manual trans.
3. You didn't state what kind of SS it was, but I am going to assume it was a Camaro SS, and if it was, the only reason you would have "smoked" him is because he was missing shifts.
4. There's no way a dealer would let you test drive a Lightning if you're not at least 18 years old. Most dealers don't let 40 year olds test drive them
.
As for the saleman asking the kid if he wanted to race, that I can believe because that's what happen on my 99 test drive. Of course, I ordered that truck so it was mine anyway.

Lightning tuner your right on the time my computer clock was off cuz of the battery on the motherboard, It more around 9:45 p.m. i think since i know the dealer closes at 11:00 since i went back there again.I could tell it was a manual because the seats in the lightning are high enough that i could see inside his car. Having the windows down helped to. And the sales person that i talked to was a friend of a friend so thats how i test drove one.

Even if this were true...the last truck I would want to buy from a dealer is the one reading 10 miles...all of which were tire smoking miles. Does anyone else here care how their truck is broke in?
