Post Lids

I am thinking about putting some kind of hard tonneau on my L and was wondering what kinds you guys have and how you like them.

If you can give me likes and dislikes and anything else you can throw in.

Also is there any good place to order one and have it shipped out to me. The only dealer around here is a Leer dealer and there is an ARE dealer who put on my last topper and he is kind of an ***.

I don't know if you can have these shipped to us or if you have to go to a dealer to get it installed. I would be willing to travel if anybody knows of a good dealer maybe snugtop in utah or wyoming or idaho or colorado.

Well anyway what brands to you have and any good or bad things?
Paul

I like the Snuglid Snugtop - its the cleanest looking (no weird looking arm things to hold it up like the ARE), it is very easy to take off (just pop off the 2 shocks and undo the pins on the back and slide it off) and it looks like it had a better seal than the ARE (there are 4 rubber edges to seal it off), and they matched the ford (LN Silver) color perfectly.

I'll try to get more pics soon of the inside...

Here's my modified lock-removed M Pulse Lo-Pro. By ARE. I like it.

Whatever you do, don't rush your decision. Figure out what you need the lid to do for you.

Cool

I too am in the market for a hard cover. I have been leaning towards the pro-sport from Innovation Industries. Its just that the price of 899 + shipping would buy alot of "goodies" for speed .Let me see, if I don't pay rent, power, and don't eat this month maybe I can have it all!

Thumbs up

You might look at CoverMasterinc.com . the Edge is what they call their top. no drill, has a frame. it doesn't leak thru the car wash. I also put a bed liner and tailgate cover in when I got it.

Cool

I ordered a SnugLid from the dealer when I ordered my '01 L. For an extra $60 they carpeted the underside with a Bedrug type material. It gives a nice finished look besides matching the Bedrug to a *T*.
I liked the ARE lowpro, but didn't like the way it left the plastic on the rails exposed. As another poster commented, the SnugLid has a great heavy duty wide rubber gasket that seals extremely well. The frame is clamped on- no drilling required.
The paint matches perfectly and the overall quality is top-notch.
I paid $755 carpeted and installed.
Good luck with your search.
