ok so its that time of year where overtime is high at work givin me extra money to spend on the truck. i plan on gettin it tuned up at jlp sometime here in the next month or so depending on their schedule, but before i do i was wondering bout if i should get a bigger maf sensor or not. i hear the stock one is good for 450 rwhp and i dunno if ill be on or just shy of 450, but i thought about gettin the sct 2400 maf that can handle over 600rwhp just so i dont peg my stock one all the time. is this a good idea? or would i just be wasting the money on a new maf. my friend just got one for his lightning and he needs a tune also but his maf sensor went out completely. any thoughts or info greatly appreciated, i plan on makin phone calls here in the next week so the sooner the better

 

iirc the maf will peg before you run out of injector so I would definitely upgrade it. You will need a tune though. The nice thing is that you will know that your maf will be good for whatever you throw at it in the near future.

 

thats what i figured...i just wanted some more experienced ppl's opinions on what they would do or not do. i just dont want to waste the money if its not necessary, id rather put it into something else. anyone else agree its a good idea to get one before tuning?
