sat. i pulled the left front tire to install my JL ram air kit. when finished, i torqued(95 ft. lbs.?--anyone know the correct torque?) the lug nuts. i then checked the other wheels and found the rt rr. 'loose'--the wrenched moved maybe 3".
so, all you new owners might want to check yours...

For 2000 and 2001 truck, wheel lug torque 150 lb/ft (14mm lugs). For 99's it's 100 lb/ft (12mm lugs).
Hope this helps...

I believe the 150lbs torque is stamped on the lugnut.

Well, a friend of mine has a 2001 and was installing wheel locks, and broke a lug off. He was using 150 lbs on his torque wrench. I understand it takes about four hours to get at and replace the broken lug. The 150 seems extremely high considering the '99 use 100 lbs. with a 12 MM lug. 150 for 14 MM lug? I do'no.

i use the two-grunt© method.
tighten till you grunt once..
get a better grip, then tighten till you grunt again.
if you fart, you've gone too far. check your shorts & start over.

Typically, the 14mm studs are used on the 3/4 ton trucks, and use 150 lbs. On our trucks, they say to use this amount.
Have you ever tried to untorque a lugnut at 150 lbs. why the wimpy wrench they give you for changing a tire? Good Luck. Time to call AAA.
I've been using 120 lbs, and have had no problems.
