Spare wheels, or 16" inchers, you should go with the 26 x 11.5 x 16.

15" wheels, I would recomend what I run...28.2 x 12.5 x 15 ET STREET

16" ford spare tire or cheap stock should be available from a big after market wheel dealer cheap. I got some 7" for $35 each. They work fine with the 11.5 X 26 R 16 reguardless of what others say. I've been runnin them for over a year with no tubes or screws and they work fine. Use 18 psi hot. 15" rims would be great if you could find some that fit. If your rich you can have some made, but shearing the calipers and expensive wheels is not my way. If you want some better looking and wider 16" rims Discount Tire has some ULTRAS that come in 10" width. They retail for about 140 each but I got them from Discount for 100.00 each for my next set of slicks. I'm gonna see if they improve traction over the 7" rims. 15" wheels would be ideal because you have a larger diameter selection of at least 28" but in 16" the biggest is 26". This ups your gear ratio some which is good if you have a 3.55 or 3.73 but cuts down your top end some. Since I run at an 1/8 mile track it doesn't effect me much, about 2 mph. More in the quarter mile.
Forget the BFG and nitto tires, no traction for the money.

So Noel, are you saying that the 16 wheels would be a good choice?? Are the 11.5 X 26 good for everyday street use? I know, too many questions, BUT inquiring minds need information. Thanks in advance

Cool

I know you asked for Noel, but Fast Gator, most people are running the Mickey Thompson ET STreeTs, and yes, they are street legal, but for everyday use, you'll get about 5000mi out of them. It'd be better to switch them before you race, and then switch them back afterwards. Money wise, the 16" wheels are the best, for hardcore racers, that want THE best times, 15" wheels would be best.

Unless you live where it never rains, I absolutely would NEVER drive MT ET Streets in the rain. They are unsafe at any speed over about 10 mph. Great at the strip though.
I carry them in the back to the track with a big jack that will lift from the pumpkin the whole rear of the truck at once. Jack weighs a ton (3 ton jack) but thats racin.

Call Mickey Thompson, ask your tire dealer and talk to people with properly-sized wheels.

11.5 or 12.5 in racing tires do NOT belong on 8.5 in. wheels, "regardless of what others say"

I've run 'em both ways, and it's screwed, tubed and wide for me. I'm not wrecking a $30,000 truck for want of decent wheels.

Besides, it puts more rubber on the ground.
