New noise after lower pulley install.
madhouse: i think it was one of my posts that referred to this slightly longer s/c belt. that is the correct number. it is a Gates belt and i bot it at a NAPA store. the clerk told me to 'drop' the 'k'? but that is a good no. i like the idea that the s/c bearings aren't being overstressed by a too tight belt.

I went to three different places looking for a belt that's supposed to be a little longer. It was posted here, part number K080670. They told me that there must be more to the belt number - nobody could find that particular belt.

2. It could be a tensioner problem. If you unbolt the intercooler tank and lift it off to the side, you will see the blower belt tensioner. If you look closely, you will see a small casting nub that sticks off, and actually stops the tensioner arm from moving at one point. When you install the pulley, which is larger, it moves the arm closer to this nub. On some trucks it will actually hit the nub. You can snap this nub off by putting your breaker bar on the the tensioner and moving the arm until it contacts the nub, and then using a bit of force, snap the nub off. This will give you more tensioner arm throw, and if you do this BEFORE you try to put the belt on after you install the pulley, the belt goes right on. there is no harm is removing this nub, is it used for prodcution assembly only.

You know I have experienced this sound as well, but only once the truck has been running for about 15 minutes and everything is heated up. I think its that nub now that you say that sal, its makes sense because my belt would loosen up a bit and then make that noise. I couldn't figure that out for the life of me. I'm going to try and fix that tonight now. Thanks a million Sal!!!
