For Mr.SilverBullet.

The Kit was $550.00 shipped direct from Hotchkis and came with aforementioned springs as well as new bump stops and spring isolators for the front end. The pieces are available seperately and if you shop around places like Summit I'm sure you can get a better deal.

The ride quality is better than stock folks and that's with the stock shocks. I expect the Bilstein's will improve the ride quality even more. I give this kit my seal of approval

One more question. Did you do the cam bolts as well?

RobBlack, your truck looks awesome! congratulations. It looks like you've got the 18's on there, the lowering really makes them fill out the wheelwell more and looks much better. my question is this, is your towing capacity affected at all? I have a Red '01 and I'm looking to lower it slightly (read: not slam it) because I use it to tow a Mustang and trailer which weigh in at around 4500lbs, so I don't have room for reduced tow capacity. Did Hotchkiss give you any info on that? BTW I have a set of their adjustable upper control arms on my 93LX5.0 and their product quality looks great. Even though it seems they started life as Chevy people their catalogs/brochures are full of chevy turds. anyway, have a good one.

later,
chris

Thanks Chris,
The wheels are stock 18's chrome plated by Ford and are found in the Ford Racing catolog. Towing capacity is NOT affected by this drop. Also, no cam bolts necessary, I suppose if the drop was greater than 2" in the front they would be but all I had to do was get it aligned and no problems.

Just so you are aware, the tow capacity is not reduced but the load carrying capacity is, but only due to the reduced suspension travel. Hotchkis recommends adding air bags if you frequently load up the rear to it's max.

Rob,

You wouln't happen to have any part #'s would you? I really love the subtle change it makes to the stance of the truck.

Rob,
Do you need to get an alignment after installing the kit?
Can you fit this with regular tools?

Thanks

I just called summit (www.summitracing.com) or 1-800-230-3030 and they quoted me 158.64 for the fronts and 281.99 for the rear springs. total of $440.63, not bad, but they have to special order it all, not in stock. will take a few weeks they say.... hmmmm.

chris
