Post DRAGIN' QUESTION

i'm going to the strip for the first time. i'm going to go around the water box(F1s), line up, raise the rpm's to about 1,000, and then floor it when the third lite lights up.

my question has to do with loss of boost. do i have to worry about that without doing a burn-out? i know that i can disconnect it but do i need to under these conditions?

thanks, dan

I never experienced a loss of boost, but I also don't get too close to the redline during my burnouts... Either I'm doing something wrong or I'm doing it right.

You should spin the debris off the tires with a 2-3 second burnout, just enough so they start to smoke and then spin forward a few feet to pick up some VHT off the track. If you don't bump the rev limiter during your burnout you shouldn't lose boost. Also, don't just hammer it off the line unless you've got slicks. With the F-1's you have to roll into the throttle or they'll go up in smoke. The guy that spins is not the guy that wins.

Also be careful to not cut in front of your opponent while exiting the shutdown area.

Cool

Unplug the boost, you don't need it anyway. That way you have no power loss ans no harm doing it either,it doesn't even need to be hooked up at all period!!!!
