Once a chip has a specific source program (i.e. CUX1), can it be reprogramed to a different source program?

Just wondering if I should just have my computer changed over to CUX2 and be done with it?

As far as I know it can be changed from CUX1 to CUX2 without changing computer unless it is a cux1 program going into a 2000L or a cux2 program going into a 1999L... What problems are you having?

 

Yes the same chip can be reprogramed for a cux1 cux2 or cxn1 and so on!.....JL

No problems, just dont want to buy a chip and then take my truck in for waranty work only to have the dealer change the program.
