Question Anyone have there ac stop working on a 00?

Seems to me that there were a couple of others that had this problem but a search turned up nada. After driving 22 hours from grand rapids to philly and back with temps in the 90s and humid air,the last thing i want to do is bring it to the dealers were i always feel like they no less than i do.

I will tell you I love fords and especially my 00' L, but Fords are know for they GREAT A/C systems. Seeing as your truck is only a year old I think they will fix it.

Mine's not working either! I tried it a couple weeks ago and it doesn't seem to be putting out cold air. Mine is also a 2000 with 8300 miles. I am going to make an appointment with the dealer. The only changes since the last time it worked are plugs, t/b and pulley.

I had the same problem on my 01, turned out to be a loose 72 pin connector under that plastic cover near the battery.

OK...here's what happens to me:

Every once and a while, th A/C would cut-off, especially when I activate while cruising down the highway...it will not get cold. I realised (for some stupid reason) that when I come to a stop, just for a monent, the AC kicks back on, and stays on.....weird

My experience supports what Spiro says. I had my truck to the dealer last year for a non A/C issue. On the drive home, my A/C was not working. I pulled over on the highway and looked at the engine to make sure nothing looked funny. Then when I pulled away, the A/C kicked on. That was the first and last time it did that.

Cool

Mine did this last year coming home from cyberbrawl, and like everyone said came back on,but this time it refuses, even after unplugging the battery.I thought maybe it was a side affect of my swanson chip but probabbly not. It will most likely come back on in the late fall, just in time for storage so i better let the monkeys at the dealer get some more on the job training lol.

My A/C went out, too. I took it to my Lincoln dealer a month ago, and they fixed me up in a few hours. They replaced a defective o-ring and charged up the system. It's been working fine ever since in the TX heat.

LOL!

This is one of the reasons I got rid of my '99 Cobra. The damn A/C was repaired 5 TIMES! It doesn't take long to get hot in a black car in Georgia.

Remember if you have had the neg batt cable off, you need to recycle the a/c on and off at idle. If you leave the track and put the a/c on at rpm above idle, it will not come on until you slow to a stop. After that it will work fine.

I found the problem with mine duh, it was unhooked probabbly on one of my many plug changes, belt changes or the pulley change. It comes unplugged real easy so who knows.Anyone whos ac is not working at all might want to check this before wasting hours at your dealer, especially if youv'e done recent mods.

Thumbs up

My A/C quit working about a month ago after a visit to my local Ford dealer to r&r a rear 02 sensor. Funny it worked when I went im that morning?
Anyways I noticed my I/C pump wasn't circulating, neither. Checked the fuse panel found a 30 amp blown fuse. WALA!!! A/C an I/C now work. Dear must have shorted out something to blow it.
