Thumbs down Lightning+Heat+Humidity=slug

The L's really don't take to the heat and humidity well. Everyone was running almost .5 seconds off their normal cool temp times. It was 99degrees,50%humidity, and 29.xBarametric at Cecil last night.

Amen to that. It was 125 degrees on the track surface a couple of weekends ago and I was running 9.2 1/8th-mile times!

LIGHTNINROD is right. Try 105 degrees with 85% humidity and no breeze. Damn cars don't even wanna START much less run fast!

Georgia BY FAR is the worst heat in the world!

Speaking of spraying...anyone tried water or alcohol injection. I remember Carrol Supercharging in NJ, had a kit I was going to install on my Z28. I bet that would drop the ET's in the heat.

Heck, I got FORDS "Water Injection". NO CHARGE.
Works great!!! Step on the gas, make 6-8 runs down the 1/4 mile-presto 2"-3" water (distilled) injected into the engine.
One problem though.
Don't think all the cylinders are getting the water equally. Ford should fix there injection to be metered equally among ALL cylinders.
OR FIX THE FRIGGIN' INTER COOLERS!!

I guess the I/C leak is one problem all 99-00 Lightning's have to contend with.

All blown motors have issues with the heat also. My ATI Procharged 96 Z28 would run around 113mph when it was cool out and only ran about 106mph when it was hot. It used to detonate like crazy in the heat. As a matter of fact I broke a piston when it was 85 degree's out one day. Couldn't hear the detonation because the T-Tops were out and the stereo was blaring.

Unhappy

Memphis is about the same as FL, GA & TX experience with 95 degrees and high humidity. I haven't bothered to go to the track for the past 3 weeks. I could expect to run .2 to .3 slower than when it was 80 degrees. It will be late September or early October before good times are seen again.
