Post hdmlnium or Rtkilla Question on 20 inch rims

Hi Guys, Do you think the stock 18 inch rims SVT center cap will fit the 20 inch Replica Rims??? I might order a set of 20 inch Chrome rims soon. I have someone interested in giving me $1500. for my stock 18 inch Chrome Rims with tires with only 4000, Cherry condition. Do you both think that is a good deal selling the rims and tires for that price? How is the ride with the 20 inch rims and tires is the ride harder??? Did you both have to have your chip reburned for the speedo gear with the new rims and tire set setup???
Thanks in Advance, DJY

I think thats a fair price on the rims and tires depending on the wear on the tires.

I love the rims and tire and the speed is only off about 2 MPH so I'm not going to mess with it until I have to for some performance stuff.

I think the ride is really good on the truck. I can't really tell the difference, but I have different tire from the rest of you guys with the 20's. I like the dunlops, yesterday it was absolutly pouring in my town and I drove in. I could not belive how awesome these tire's where in the rain. you can't slam on the gas, but you can go at it with half to 3/4 thottle and not slip a bite. these tires are the chit in the rain. I can rain race now!

I think the center cap would fit, but I'll check it out tonight when I get home. I got center caps laying around everywhere. I like the little lightning bolts on the rims though. there different.

Hey good luck, and I know you'll love these rims.

Later Joe

Thumbs up

DJY:

The SVT center caps will fit the 20" wheels. I think $1500. Is a fair price for your chrome 18's, So it will only cost you about $1200. or so more to upgrade to the 20's. That would be the way to go, your truck is sweet and the 20's will make it look that much nicer. I like them and the ride is fine, they slowed me down a couple of tenths in the Quarter and I lost about 3 MPH. The shift points still seem to be real good so I dought you will have to do any chip reburn for them. Get them, you will love them.

RTKILLA & Hdmlnium, Thank you for the quick replys! What size tires are you both running on the 20 inch rims 295-40-20??? I might go with 295-35-20 tires do you think the profile will be too low??? I hope you both have a great weekend!!!

Aloha, DJY

Hey DJY, I have to say that I really like the look of your truck. My question is : how much have you lowered it?
I am new to the forum and looking to buy a lightning this week, I think your pic has sold me on black.

CALEDONIAN, I have lowered my truck with the following parts:
Bell Tech kit 3/4
Western Chassis 2 inch A-arms
Western Chassis C-section Rear frame kit
Edelbrock Front shocks
Doetsch Tech rear shocks
Ford Dealer installed Camber kit for Alignment.

The front of my Lightning it is about 4 1/2 inches lowered in the front and the rear is around 4 inches or more lowered. I think you will be really happy with a Black Lightning!

Good Luck, DJY
