I was reading the F-150 rally schedule of events and on Saturday is the drag strip day. It says that if you run over a 14.00 that you will need a helmet. If so I am going to have to get one. Let me know

To my knowledge, it's if you are running in the 13's you need a helmet. And yes, if you are running 13's, I'd get one, or borrow one from a buddy and is DOT apporved. I have been turned away from racing before, b/c I didn't know the tracked required me to wear a helmet (Luckily a nice 00 L owner let me borrow his).

I know the 2 tracks I go to in Ohio require a helmet if you run under 14.0. I bought one on Ebay (brand new Nolan) for $79.00 including shipping. You might as well get one with a Snell 95 rating on it since you need a Snell rating for some autocross and road courses. I bought my helmet from a motorcycle dealer that had plenty of sizes and colors. Tom

 

and if you go 11.99 and faster you need to have a 6 point cage too! don't forget that.

Any Track that is sanctioned by NHRA will require a helmet under 14.00. That is a NHRA rule so the track has no choice as far as that goes. My track went even further one year and started requiring helmets under 15.00.

 

damn, a six point cage, WOW, I bet that is expensive!! I guess if we get these trucks that fast I will consider it.
