An opening car door caught my left rear fender on the Lightning. It left a 1/8 " chip in the paint.

Do I have any options her other than getting the whole side of the bed repainted?

I can't leave it this way, it looks awful.

 

Find a guy that does airbrush like painting Harleys etc. They ususally don't like working on cars but are the best micro detail/airbrushers their are. Good luck.

I don't know what color your truck is or where on the fender you were hit, but mine took two pretty good door shots (dents) on the front and rear drivers side fenders. mine is black and i was able to outline all the fenders with thin black fender molding. it covered the chips/dents completely, you really can't see it on black and it has taken quite a few impacts over the last two years. our huge fenders are "sitting ducks"

 

Take it to The Dent Dr. or any other paintless dent removal company. I had 3 door dings removed from the passenger door for $60.00. You can't even tell they were there. Took about 15 minutes to do and you will be amazed at what they can do in that short amount of time. This dent Dr. will usually come to your house also. Good luck.

Ding is in the passenger side rear fender. It hit hard enough to chip the fiberglass (or plastic or whatever it is).

My truck is Red. I took it in to the dealer and got an estimate yeasterday. $296

They said they will not have to paint the whole fender, and they are "pretty sure" they can blend it in so it will match and I won't be able to see the repainted area.

Damn, I sure hope it comes out right.

 

God...what are all of you guys doing parking next to other cars???

My Lightning is always easy to find, it is the one parked 1 mile out in the parking lot...far away from Hondas, toyotas, and other cars whose owners just don't care.

Like an earlier post mentioned,find someone who does air brushing.I put a nick in my wifes car and he just airbrushed it out and away.The name of the company was chips away,and the cost was $125.....don't let the dealer paint the side!!!!!If you need help finding a place like this in your area,I can call the person here locally and ask if they have a person in your area,let me know.
