Weak 01 L dyno

EASY, the definition of Watt's horsepower is:
HP = Pound-Feet per Minute/33,000
so
HP = (Torque*2*pi*RPM)/33,000
work through the constants and you get:
HP = (Torque*RPM)/5250
so by definition:
(Torque*RPM)/HP = 5250
and when HP = Torque, RPM = 5250

ACoder,
Don't worry about your dyno run. There are many different dyno types and many different theories of just how much drivetrain power loss there is. I've seen people quote numbers anywhere from 15-25% drivetrain loss. Not only that, but sometimes you may have a "bad dyno run", where the numbers are just not true, for whatever reason. You need to head out to the track and run your L and let's see how she does. If you have low hp for whatever reason, then we'll know it once you make some passes with us.
JoeLightning,
You beat me to the punch on the technical information on the torque/horsepower issue (us damn Engineers just think too damn mathematically, hehe). I have come across so many people that will argue that torque and hp do not always cross at 5252 rpm. They just don't understand that when the Y axis of hp and torque are not equal than that makes the X axis value of rpm not cross at the 5252 rpm point. Anyhow, just thought I'd jump in and say hi. Shoot me an email sometime and let me know how life is an all.
Hopefully see you at the track Wed.

Beat me, too. Yes Virginia, when all else is equal, HP@5250 Rpm = Torque@ 5250 RPM.
Also, the drivetrain loss in a Lightning is 11.2% at Max Torque, trust me on this one, I have access to better equipment than darn near anyone to check that figure, and it's right, I've checked it many times.
so, if you start with 360 HP (99 & 00 stock) you would get 320 HP give or take, which is about what most Dynos figure for a stock Lightning. There you go.

Well ACoder, if you want to run your L, don't do it at Firebird...... well at least not if you are looking for fast times. It is well known that you will run about .50 slower at Firebird than at Phoenix Raceway. I know it is a long drive, but most say it is worth it.
Just thought I would give you that hint. I lived out there for 31 years, and used to run around with Blue Oval Motorsport Club.
Have fun.

That is some info I can use!
So given that I can pretty much say that my 341 dyno was crap.
341= X - .112X
3044.64 = X/.112 - X
3044.64 = 8.92X - X
384.00 = X
I seriously doubt that the Diablo chip and filter gave me 4 horsepower at the fly (assuming my engine is making the standard 380) given the oh-sh*t seat o the pants reading I've had after I installed them.
