Post JBA Headers in new Sport Truck

In the new Sport truck magazine they installed a set of JBA shorties on a 01'L. They did say the after install dyno run was done at a cooler outdoor temp. They gained 21HP and 33ft lbs. I hope I can resist the temptations. I bought this truck to get away from modifying away from stock and increasing maintanence and decreasing reliability. I am going to try to stop at a chip, intake, and pulley.

Tire shredding truck
Prototype ram air 5/03 testing... Works GREAT!
Retrax cover 5/5/01
Wet Okoles 6/04/01
Looking for a chip and pulley soon.

Really, did they dyno it? Sounds like decent gains but I'm not sure if it's worst the $$$ and the pain of putting them in. Unless your an absolute power nut.

Wouldn't believe a magazine on this stuff. You would think with all the Bassani's & JBA's someone would actually be able to produce and post dyno sheets. Air temp and intercooler temps can cause at least 20 hp variances (my experience).

I do not believe the shorties make anymore power than stock. This is according to all the posts of people that have them.

I've got the long tube headers and before and after dyno sheets. If I wasn't such an idiot I would know how to post these.

They printed dyno sheets in the article, 340 before 360 after 400tq 433 after. They said it was cooler outside after the install and they were installed AND dynoed at JBA facility. With the volume this motor breathes it makes sense to get it out faster?

Yeah It wasn't horrible to change as long as you have a lift, pull the front wheels, and fender plastic skirts. $699 retail non coated 409 stainless. They said it was cooler out side when they did the after install dyno run but think the gains are similar. Even 15-20 hp would be a nice gain. I had headers on my Tahoe and had a weld joint leak and other small header trouble. Their may be nice gains from more boost and other mods...

I have a set of JBAs on my truck. I did not dyno it before I installed them, but afterward it was only making 317 rwhp. I am extremely sceptical of a claim of making significant gains from short tube headers on these trucks, although maybe the 01s are different?

Not trying to sell anything here...but I do have a friend thats looking to sell a set of JBA STAINLESS HEADERS. I also had them listed here in our CLASSIFIED section.
He said there was a slight gain in power, but no DYNO #'s to back that up. Reason for selling...upgrading to a TURBO system

I have a buddy who claimed 12HP from them. He had a before and after dyno.
